In the 1996 general election, there were 23.2 million eligible voters in California, but only 15 million (65%) were registered to vote. Of all eligible voters, only 10.3 million (44%) actually voted, and only 28% cast votes that went to winning candidates in state-wide or house elections. This means, in a two-way, winner-take-all race, the winning candidate for a state-level office needed only 22% of the eligible voters to win (10.3 x 50.1% /23.2). It is difficult to believe that elections, where so few participate or vote for winning candidates, can be considered legitimate or representative.

The IRS Agent On Halloween
The door bell rang, and the man answered it. On his doorstep stood a plain but well dressed kid, saying, "Trick or Treat!"
The man asked the kid what he was dressed up like for Halloween.
The kid replied, "I'm an IRS agent," then took 40 percent of the man's candy, left, and didn't say thank you.
It is critical for you to BE AN INFORMED VOTER!!!!
